Most of them come from heredity, and then gradually show various symptoms with development in life. The common onset age is about 8-13 years old. It is manifested as inactivity, open mouth breathing, easy fatigue, decreased appetite, cough and wheezing, especially in summer.

Maybe it’s because these toy dogs don’t like activities at ordinary times, so these symptoms are very easy to be covered up. Therefore, when pet owners find out, they often have serious diseases and have difficulty breathing before they go to the hospital for examination. The two most common diseases of respiratory system in short nosed dogs are natural “long soft palate” and tracheobronchia. In this way, when it needs a lot of air circulation during exercise or heat, it will be greatly affected, resulting in reduced flow, even dyspnea and dizziness. In reality, it is often reflected in the fact that short nosed dogs are prone to heatstroke after activities and when the temperature is high in summer. In case of shortness of breath, because of hypoxia, the heartbeat will greatly accelerate and induce the occurrence of heart disease.

Some people say that the longer the nasal cavity, the lower the possibility of respiratory infection, which is reasonable. The nasal cavity is full of nasal hair and blood vessels, which are responsible for maintaining the temperature of the air. When the weather is cold, heat the cold air and cool the air when the weather is hot, so as to avoid direct stimulation of the air to the throat and trachea. Similarly, nose hair also plays a role in filtering dust and bacteria. It is not only the first barrier for human resistance, but also a natural mask.
