In summer, laying hens appear to produce fewer eggs because of these three aspects
1.nutritional factors
Mainly refers to the lack of nutrition in the feed or unreasonable ratio, if the feed is overfed animal feed, there will be too large or produce double yolk eggs, and make the fallopian tube rupture. A lack of vitamins in feed, such as vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin E, can also cause the disease. Especially in summer, the metabolism of laying hens increases and the demand for nutrition also increases. The unreasonable feed ratio is more likely to lead to salpingitis, which will directly lead to the decline of laying rate of laying hens.
2.management factors
In summer, the sanitary conditions of the hen house will be greatly tested. The poor sanitary conditions of the hen house will lead to the breeding and reproduction of a large number of pathogenic microorganisms in the hen house, which will pollute the cloaca of laying hens and cause salpingitis after the bacteria invade the fallopian tube, leading to the decrease of egg production.However, in summer, laying hens are extremely sensitive to changes in the external environment. If improper management is carried out during the laying period, such as catching hens, refueling, immunization, water cut off, strangers or animals entering the hen house, abnormal sound and color, etc., all of them will cause stress response of the hens and lead to a decline in laying.In addition, the beginning of laying and the peak period of laying are also a strong stress for laying hens, so the laying rate of laying hens will also be unstable.
3.Prevent pathogen invasion
All viruses will cause the decrease of laying rate and egg quality of laying hens. The most serious virus is influenza virus, which has a strong affinity to the fallopian tube and can cause edema in the fallopian tube, especially the shell gland. Once infected, it is difficult to completely remove the virus in the fallopian tube and cause serious damage.
Bacterial infections, of which Salmonella is the most serious, can affect the normal secretion of hormones and prevent the chickens from laying eggs;
Chlamydia infection, chlamydia will lead to follicular degeneration of the fallopian tube, manifested as vesicular cysts on the mucosal surface of the mesentery, fallopian tube lamina and bulge, resulting in ovarian non-ovulation and a slow increase in egg production rate.
The above three aspects are the main culprit of the decline in laying hens, so we must do the following measures in the summer.
To strengthen the management of feeding, reduce the occurrence of various stress.
Appropriate feeding density should be controlled to avoid overcrowding of hens during laying period.
Control the temperature and humidity in the house, strengthen ventilation and ventilation, and timely discharge the harmful gases in the house
