Sergei Rakhtukhov, general manager of the Russian National Federation of Poultry Breeders, said that Russia’s poultry exports in the first quarter increased by 50% year-on-year and may increase by 20% in April
“Our export volume has grown very significantly. The latest data shows that the export volume increased by more than 50% in the first quarter,” Rakhtyukhoff noted.
He believes that export indicators have increased in almost all sectors. At the same time, the proportion of exports to China in 2020 and 2021 was about 50%, and now it is slightly more than 30%, and the share of exports to Saudi-dominated Gulf countries, as well as Southeast Asia and Africa has increased.
As a result, Russian suppliers have successfully overcome challenges related to possible constraints on global logistics.
“In April, exports increased by more than 20 percent, which means that despite the rather complicated world trade situation, our products are in high demand and competitive,” Rakhtyukhoff said.
The alliance pointed out that in the first quarter of this year, Russian meat and poultry production (gross weight of slaughtered animals) was 1.495 million tons, an increase of 9.5% year-on-year, and a year-on-year increase of 9.1% in March to 556,500 tons.
