○White or translucent eye discharge:

This as normal and fresh eye discharge produced when your cat just woke up, remember to help your cat to wipe it~

○Black eye discharge:

Don’t worry! Normal eye discharge will become dark or brown after drying. You just need to use wet cotton swabs to wipe it gently!

○Yellow eye discharge:

Maybe your cat feels a little bit uncomfortable.

Possible causes:

1. Your cats eats salt and oil too much, only eat dry cat food for a long time, lack of water, vitamins and fiber.
2. Young cats drink sheep milk for a long time.

Measurement:

1. Drink more water: you can put water bowls into different places, which will remind your cat to drink more water.
2. Eat wet cat food: you can buy complete nutrition cans for your cat, or steam cat broth by yourself.
3. Dip a cotton swab in saline: you can dip a cotton swab in saline, then wipe the eye discharge.

○Green eye discharge:

Your cat may be infected with inflammation, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis. Cat’s eyes infected with inflammation will secrete a lot of stickt yellow-green eye discharges. The eyes may be red or photophobic.

Measurement: use erythromycin eye ointment/tobaise to reduce inflammation. If there is no improvement in 3-5 days, contact your doctor in time.

○Red eye discharge:

Your cat may have trauma or get vitamin A intoxication.

Possible causes:

1. Eat too much: your cat eat liver too much that will lead to vitamin A intoxication.
2. Get trauma: your cats is bleeding from traumatic eyes, especially in multi-cat homes.

Measurement: if there are small wounds around the eyelids, they can be cleaned with saline after shaving and rubbed daily with erythromycin eye ointment.
