Minerals are essential for the growth and development of chickens. When they are lacking, chickens are weakened and easily infected with diseases, especially when laying hens cannot be deficient in calcium, are they prone to rickets and lay soft-shelled eggs. Among the minerals, calcium, phosphorus, sodium and other elements have the greatest effect, so you must pay attention to supplementing the mineral feed. Common mineral Chicken feeds are:

(1) Shell meal: contains more calcium and is easily absorbed and utilized by chickens, generally accounting for 2% to 4% of the diet.
(2) Bone meal: It is rich in phosphorus, and the feeding amount accounts for 1% to 3% of the diet.
(3) Eggshell powder: similar to shell powder, but must be sterilized before feeding.
(4) Lime powder: mainly contains calcium, and the feeding amount is 2%-4% of the diet
(5) Charcoal powder: It can absorb some harmful substances and gases in the chicken intestines.
When ordinary chickens have diarrhea, add 2% of the feed to the grain, and stop feeding after returning to normal.
(6) Sand: mainly to help chicken digest feed. A small amount must be rationed in the ration, or sprinkled on the ground for self-feeding.
(7) Plant ash: It has a good effect on the bone development of chicks, but it cannot be fed with fresh plant ash. It can be fed only after being exposed to the air for 1 month. The dosage is 4% to 8%.
(8) Salt: It can increase appetite and is beneficial to the health of chickens. However, the amount of feeding must be appropriate, and the general amount is 0.3% to 0.5% of the diet, otherwise the amount is large and easy to be poisoned.
