01 What are the tears

The tear marks we usually say refer to the long-term tears at the corners of the children’s eyes, resulting in hair adhesion and pigmentation, forming a wet ditch, which not only affects health, but also affects beauty!

02 Causes of tear marks

1. Congenital (breed) reasons: some cats and dogs are born with flat faces (Garfield, bixiong, Bago, Xishi dog, etc.), and the nasal cavity of these children is usually short, so tears cannot flow into the nasal cavity through the nasolacrimal duct, resulting in overflow and tear marks.

2. Trichiasis: like us humans, children also have the problem of trichiasis. The reverse growth of eyelashes constantly stimulates the eyes and produces too many tears, resulting in tears. This kind is also very prone to conjunctivitis.

3. Eye problems (diseases): when conjunctivitis, keratitis and other diseases occur, the lacrimal gland will secrete too much tears and cause tear marks.

4. Infectious diseases: many infectious diseases will cause the increase of eye secretions, resulting in tears (such as cat nasal branch).

5. Eating too much salt: when you often feed meat and foods with high salt content, if the hairy child doesn’t like drinking water, tears are very easy to appear.

03 How to solve tear marks

When pets have tears, we should analyze the causes of tears according to specific cases in order to find a reasonable solution!

1. If the nasal cavity is too short and the tear marks are really difficult to avoid, we should regularly use eye care fluid, reduce salt intake and maintain eye hygiene to alleviate the occurrence of tear marks.

2. Pets should be checked regularly to see if they have trichiasis, even if their eyelashes are too long, so as to prevent eye irritation.

3. At the same time, we should have regular physical examination to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases, so as to reduce the occurrence of tears
