Antibiotic for animals and birds of a new generation

Pathogenic bacteria are dangerous and insidious: they attack unnoticed, act quickly and often their action is fatal. In the struggle for life, only a strong and proven helper will help – an antibiotic for animals.

In this article we will talk about common bacterial infections in cattle, pigs and poultry, and at the end of the article you will find out which drug will help to cope with the development of these diseases and subsequent complications.

Pasteurellosis

This is an infectious disease that affects cattle, pigs and poultry. In our country, it is widespread in the middle zone. The financial loss can be quite high, given the killing of sick animals and the cost of drugs for treatable animals.

The disease is caused by Pasteurella multo-cida. This bacillus was identified by L. Pasteur in 1880 – this bacterium was named after him pasteurella, and the disease was named pasteurellosis.

The bacterium is transmitted contagiously (through contact with a sick or recovered animal). The methods of transmission are different: through feces or blood, with water and food, through saliva. A sick cow excretes Pasteurella in milk. Distribution depends on the virulence of the microorganisms, the state of the immune system and the quality of nutrition.

There are 4 forms of the course of the disease:

  • ● Hyperacute – high body temperature, disruption of the cardiovascular system, bloody diarrhea. Death occurs within a few hours with rapidly developing heart failure and pulmonary edema.
  • ● Acute – can be manifested by edema of the body (worsening to asphyxia), intestinal damage (diarrhea), damage to the respiratory system (pneumonia). Fever is characteristic.
  • ● Subacute – characterized by symptoms of mucopurulent rhinitis, arthritis, prolonged pleuropneumonia, keratitis.
  • ● Chronic – against the background of a subacute course, progressive exhaustion appears.

At the first symptoms, the sick animal is placed in a separate room for quarantine for up to 30 days. The personnel are provided with removable uniforms and shoes to prevent the spread of infection. In the room where sick individuals are kept, mandatory daily disinfection is carried out.

How does the disease progress in different species of animals?

  • ● For buffaloes, as well as for cattle, an acute and precautionary course is characteristic.
  • ● Sheep in acute course are characterized by high fever, tissue edema and pleuropneumonia. The disease may be accompanied by mastitis.
  • ● In pigs, pasteurellosis occurs as a complication from a previous viral infection (influenza, erysipelas, plague). The disease is accompanied by hemorrhagic septicemia and lung damage.
  • ● In rabbits, an acute course is more often observed, accompanied by sneezing and nasal discharge, difficulty breathing, refusal to eat and water. Death occurs in 1-2 days.
  • ● In birds, the manifestations differ – a seemingly healthy individual may die, but before death the bird is in a depressed state, its crest turns blue, and in some birds the temperature may rise to 43.5 ° C, diarrhea with blood is possible. The bird progresses weakness, refusal to eat and water, and on the 3rd day the bird dies.

Recovered animals acquire immunity for a period of 6-12 months.

Pasteurellosis is a serious infectious disease that needs to be prevented, but if the animal is sick, antibiotic treatment is necessary. Recently, veterinarians have recommended TIMI 25%. We’ll talk about it in more detail at the end of the article.

Mycoplasmosis

This is a group of infectious diseases caused by the Mycoplasm family of bacteria (72 species). All types of farm animals are susceptible, especially young animals. Infection is transmitted from a sick individual to a healthy one by coughing and sneezing, with saliva, urine or feces, and also in utero.

Typical signs:

  • ● upper respiratory tract injury
  • ● pneumonia
  • ● abortion
  • ● endometritis
  • ● mastitis
  • ● stillborn animals
  • ● arthritis in young animals
  • ● keratoconjunctivitis

The disease can manifest itself in different ways:

  • ● in cattle, pneumoarthritis is observed. Manifestations of ureaplasmosis are characteristic of cows. Newborn calves have poor appetite, weakened condition, nasal discharge, lameness, impaired vestibular apparatus, fever. Some calves have permanently closed eyes, photophobia is a manifestation of keratoconjunctivitis.
  • ● in pigs, respiratory mycoplasmosis is accompanied by fever, coughing, sneezing, and nasal mucus. In piglets, these symptoms are added to lameness and joint swelling.
  • ● in sheep, the development of pneumonia is characterized by mild wheezing, coughing, nasal discharge. As a complication, mastitis, joint and eye damage can develop.

Recently, veterinarians have been advising the animal antibiotic Tilmicosin 25% for the treatment of mycoplasmosis, which has shown a positive effect in the fight against Mycoplasma spp.

Pleuropneumonia

A bacterial disease of pigs caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae. It is spread by aerogenic (air) way from pig to pig. Cattle, sheep and goats may occasionally carry the bacteria, but they do not play a significant role in the spread of infection.

Factors accelerating the spread of pleuropneumonia:

  • ● Excessive animal density on the farm
  • ● High humidity
  • ● Dustiness
  • ● High concentration of ammonia
  • ● Strain virulence
  • ● PRRSV in the herd
  • ● Rodents

Forms of the disease:

  • ● Acute – a sharp rise in temperature up to 40.5-41.5 degrees, apathy and cyanosis. On the part of the respiratory system, disturbances may not appear. Death occurs after 2-8 hours and is accompanied by difficulty breathing, bloody foamy discharge from the mouth and nose, circulatory failure causes cyanosis of the ears and snout
  • ● Subacute and chronic – develops a few weeks after the acute course of the disease, characterized by a slight increase in temperature, a slight cough. The chronic form may be asymptomatic

An antibiotic for animals is used for treatment. The earlier treatment is started, the more effective it will be. Patients must be quarantined, provided with adequate nutrition, abundant drink. The room must be ventilated and treated with disinfectants.

In cattle, contagious pleuropneumonia is caused by Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. The disease is easily transmitted by air at a distance of up to 45 meters. Transmission through urine and feces is also possible. The disease is rated as highly contagious. The rapid development of mortality leads to large losses of the herd.

Pleuropneumonia in cattle

The disease can proceed in the following conditions:

  • ● Hyperacute – accompanied by high body temperature, lack of appetite, dry cough, shortness of breath, pneumonia and pleura, diarrhea.
  • ● Acute – this condition is characterized by high fever, the appearance of bloody – purulent discharge from the nose, a strong prolonged cough. The animal often lies, there is no appetite, lactation stops, pregnant cows are aborted. This condition can be accompanied by diarrhea and wasting. Death occurs in 15-25 days.
  • ● Subacute – the body temperature periodically rises, there is a cough, the amount of milk in cows decreases
  • ● Chronic – characterized by exhaustion. the animal’s appetite decreases. The appearance of a cough after drinking cold water or when walking.

Recovered cows develop immunity to this pathogen for about 2 years.

An antibiotic for animals is used to treat pleuropneumonia in cattle. Mycoplasma mycoides subsp is resistant to drugs of the penicillin group and sulfonamides, and tilmicosin has shown its effectiveness due to the lack of resistance to it.

Antibiotic for animals and birds - TIMI 25%

Only a high-quality antibiotic for animals can cope with bacterial infections on a farm. Many groups of antibacterial drugs are widely represented on the pharmacology market. Today we would like to draw your attention to a new generation drug - TIMI 25%

TIMI 25%

TIMI 25% is a macrolide antibiotic with a broad spectrum of action. Has been shown to be effective against the following bacteria:

  • ● Staphylococcus aureus (Staphylococcus spp.)
  • ● Streptococcus (Streptococcus spp.)
  • ● Pasteurella spp.
  • ● Clostridium spp.
  • ● Arconobacteria (Arcanobacterium spp. Or Corynebacterium),
  • ● Brachispira – dysentery (Brachyspira hyodysentertae)
  • ● Clapidia (Clamydia spp.)
  • ● Spirochetes (Spirocheta spp.)
  • ● Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia (Actinobacilius pleuropneumontae)
  • ● Manchemia hemolytic (Mannheimia haemolitic)
  • ● Mycoplasma spp.

TIMI 25% is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of infections of bacterial origin in the following diseases:

  • ● For pigs with respiratory tract infections such as mycoplasmosis, pasteurellosis and pleuropneumonia
  • ● For calves with respiratory diseases: pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis and pleuropneumonia.
  • ● For chickens and other birds: with mycoplasma and pasteurellosis.
  • ● To all animals and birds: when a bacterial infection is combined against the background of a transferred viral or infectious disease, the causative agents of which are 25% sensitive to tilmicosin .

The solution for treatment is prepared daily, since its shelf life is 24 hours. According to the instructions, it is diluted in water and drunk within 3-5 days. For the period of treatment, the drug should be the only source of drinking.

TIMI 25% , in addition to the antibacterial effect, has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. The substance, entering the body with water, is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, quickly enters all organs and tissues of the body. After 1.5-3 hours, the maximum is determined in the blood serum. It is stored in the body for a day, after which it is excreted in the bile and urine.
