    Main ingredient: Doxycycline hydrochloride

Properties: This product is light green.

    Pharmacological action:

Pharmacodynamics: This product is a tetracycline broad-spectrum antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. The sensitive bacteria include Gram-positive bacteria such as pneumococcus, streptococcus, some staphylococcus, anthrax, tetanus, corynebacterium and other Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Brucella and Haemophilus, Klebsiella and meliobacter. It can also inhibit Rickettsia, mycoplasma and spirochaeta to a certain extent.

Pharmacokinetics: Rapid absorption, little influence by food, high bioavailability. The effective blood concentration is maintained for a long time, the tissue permeability is strong, the distribution is wide, and it is easy to enter the cell. The steady-state apparent volume of distribution in dogs is about 1.5L/kg. High protein binding rate for dogs 75% to 86%. Partially inactivated by chelation in the intestine, 75% of the dog's dose is eliminated in this way. Renal excretion is only about 25%, biliary excretion is less than 5%. The half-life of a dog is about 10 to 12 hours.

    Drug interactions:

    (1) When taken with sodium bicarbonate, it can increase the pH value in the stomach and reduce the absorption and activity of this product.

    (2) This product can form complexes with divalent and trivalent cations, etc., so when they are taken with calcium, magnesium, aluminum and other antacids, iron-containing drugs or milk and other foods, their absorption will be reduced, resulting in reduced blood drug concentration.

    (3) The same use with strong diuretics such as furthiamide can aggravate renal damage.

    (4) Can interfere with the bactericidal effect of penicillin on bacterial breeding period, should avoid the same use.

    Indications:

Infection of positive bacteria, negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Respiratory infections (mycoplasma pneumonia, chlamydia pneumonia, feline nasal branch, feline calicivirus disease, canine distemper). Dermatosis, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal infection, etc.

    Usage and dosage:

Doxycycline. For internal administration: one dose, 5~10mg per 1kg body weight for dogs and cats. It is used once a day for 3-5 days. Or as prescribed by a doctor. It is recommended to take after feeding and drinking more water after oral administration.

    (4) It is prohibited to use with diuretics and penicillin.

    (5) Combined with phenobarbital and anticoagulant will affect the activity of each other.

    Adverse reaction:

    (1) In dogs and cats, the most common adverse effects of oral doxycycline are vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite. In order to alleviate adverse reactions, no significant decrease in drug absorption was observed when taken with food.

(2)40% of treated dogs had an increase in liver function-related enzymes (alanine aminotransferase, basic conglutinase). The clinical significance of increased liver function related enzymes is not clear.

    (3) Oral doxycycline can cause esophageal stenosis in cats, such as oral tablets, should be taken with at least 6ml water, not dry.

    (4) Treatment with tetracycline (especially long-term) can lead to overgrowth of non-sensitive bacteria or fungi (double infection).

Target: Only for cats and dogs.
